An Awarding Week

Looks like next week is official awards for all things internet week with both the Eircom Spiders and the Realex Payments Web Awards handing out the gongs on November 1st.

In both instances, we have our eyes on a couple of categories!

Eircom Spiders Shortlists

Firstly, we’re bloody delighted that FotaWildlife.ie is back in the awards categories for the Eircom Spiders. Fota won the Best Tourism Award and the Grand Prix award in 2010 – much to our joy – and this year they’re up for a Eircom Spider Awards in Innovative use of Technology in Digital Marketing and Social Media Interaction.

Secondly, we’re equally bloody delighted that DID.ie features in the Retail Excellance category in the Eircom Spiders – we’re seriously proud of the work we’ve done, and have been doing, in collaboration with D.I.D Electrical and we’re thrilled to see the site up there with the cream of the crop in this year’s Spiders.

Eimear Keohane, who has been doing some Consultation work with us over the past number of months, has her eye on the Campaign category where the WalkInMyShoes.ie site for the campaign she ran for St. Patrick’s Foundation earlier in the year has been shortlisted for an award.

Finally, we also had a very small part to play in The Corkscrew Wine Merchants site, ably steered by Lar Veale, and are happy to see the site also listed in the *Retail Excellence* category with DID.ie and in the WebAwards.ie Best SME/Small Business Website

The competition is stiff across the board in the Eircom Spiders this year, and it’s fantastic to see plenty of our work shortlisted alongside the very best in Ireland.

Finalist for the 2012 Realex Web Awards

With respect to the Realex Payments Web Awards, we learned with delight and very pleasant surprise that StudioForty9.com is a finalist in the Best Practices category! Also kudos to Doodle Creative for their work on themuppets.hairybaby.com which is up for an award.

We’re extremely pleased with this as the Realex Payments Web Awards finalists selection represents an extremely strong cross-section of the best of Irish websites!

Phew… fingers crossed – and good luck to everybody!
